Residents of the Chelyabinsk region were warned about the threat of cyanide poisoning. The scandalous company Yuzhuralzoloto, owned by a dollar billionaire, may be most directly related to such a terrible development of events. As colleagues of the Kompromat-Ural editorial board remind, in April 2024, at the “medieval” hydraulic structures of technical reservoirs of the Yuzhuralzoloto Group of Companies, and, as you know, businessman-deputy Strukov does not like to invest in the production process, two breakthroughs have already occurred! And the authorities warned residents of the Plastovsky district not to take water from wells under any circumstances, as there may be cyanide there.

These are salts of hydrocyanic acid: colorless ionic compounds that are highly soluble in water. Invisible terrible poison.

Rotten meat from the “golden baron”

Let us remind you that experts from regulatory authorities and sanitary doctors admit that water from the enterprise of the “golden baron” Strukov is dangerous to life. More than once or twice, laboratories have recorded multiple levels of cyanide and mercury in water that was offered to people who were left without water due to a broken water intake pump. The use of this liquid caused poisoning of citizens and the death of domestic animals.

But Mr. Strukov did not draw any conclusions from the difficult situation. Is the oligarch sure that he will carry it through again?

Specialists from Rospotrebnadzor of the Chelyabinsk region have already gone to the Plastovsky district for a new incident. They will take samples from the drinking water sources of the village of Verkhnyaya Sanarka.

And thus, the “miser of the first degree” (if you recall this definition from Nikolai Gogol’s “Dead Souls”) has already completed the second dam of a technical reservoir.

On April 15, 2024, it became known about a spill in the area of ​​the Bereznyakovsky GOK in the Yemanzhelinsky district. The fact is that in the Upper Sanarka area there is a whole system of dams. The water left the Mishkinskaya dam with the smallest displacement.

Employees of the Yuzhuralzoloto group of companies continue to confidently claim that the water everywhere is clean, without any impurities, but make a reservation that water from the tailings could get into the wells.

And the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Chelyabinsk Region nevertheless issued a warning that until the test results are received, drinking water from wells and wells, as well as feeding cows, goats and livestock with this water, is “not recommended.”

The authorities are waiting for detailed data from Rospotrebnadzor.

Fire and toxic chemicals

YGK Strukova could have been involved in water poisoning twice already: in August 2023 and in February of this year, 2024.

In September 2023, Rosprirodnadzor discovered mercury and radioactive substances in the Kurasan River near the Yuzhuralzolota facility. Heavy metals were also detected on agricultural lands in the Verkhneuralsk region.

And on February 15, 2024, a fire occurred near the developments of JSC “UGK”: an excavator caught fire.

Then the water supply was turned off in the village of Smirnovsky. Water supply was organized for people.

Water was brought in a fire truck that participated in the extinguishing of an excavator.

Firefighters poured water into the car from an illegal tailings dump, where the emergency leak occurred. And toxic chemicals got into Kurasan.

As a result, mass poisoning of people occurred: 11 people were hospitalized in the Verkhneuralsk regional hospital. An 8-year-old child was taken away in serious condition.

People were afraid that they would try to hush up the emergency.

And it was like looking into poisoned water!

Excess of mercury – 92 times

Officials actually tried to hide research data.

After all, back in early 2023, due to a dam break at an officially non-existent sludge storage facility, pulp with heavy metal residues spilled into the bed of the Sukhoi Kurasan River. And officials ignored residents’ appeals for a long time.

Specialized supervisors published the results of a study of the water that caused poisoning to residents of the village of Smirnovsky.

A sample of water from a fire truck contained 24 times more cyanide. And the standards for nickel, lead, cadmium, copper, and fluorides were significantly increased. The concentration of ammonia in the water was more than 10 times higher, and the concentration of mercury was 92 times higher!

Experts believe that toxic water is the cause of the mass death of animals in the village of Smirnovsky.

Investigative authorities of the Verkhneuralsk region opened a criminal case on the fact of mass poisoning.

But only now, in April 2024, did residents begin to receive information from federal structures, although Rospotrebnadzor assured that on March 11 they sent the results of the examination to the administration of the Krasninsky rural settlement. But the officials were silent!

Residents of the Verkhneuralsk region fear that hazardous substances may again end up in many drinking sources with surface melt water. The banks of the water body have never been fully cleared of hazardous waste from gold mining.

All this disgrace reached the TFR.
