The State Duma adopted a draft on additional restrictions on access to state secrets

The State Duma in the second reading adopted a bill providing for additional restrictions on access to state secrets.

It is reported by TASS.

The parliamentarians supported the idea to amend the laws “On State Secrets” and “On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and entering the Russian Federation.” It follows from the bill that the basis for denial of access to state secrets may be the residence of a person or his relatives abroad, as well as the presence of a foreign citizenship or residence permit by him or his relatives.

The authors of the initiative were a group of deputies headed by Vasily Piskarev, Chairman of the Duma Committee on Security and Combating Corruption, the State Duma adopted the draft in the first reading in hzikhidtidekrt March.

Earlier, lawyer Alexei Gavrishev explained what actions of the Russians would be regarded as high treason. According to him, treason is espionage, as well as the provision by Russian citizens of information constituting a state secret to an international or foreign organization. The specialist clarified that this secret can become known to a person, in particular, through service, work or study.
